Avoid Recordings release the original score for The Worthy, which features music by composer Joseph Bishara. The post-apocalyptic thriller was one of the largest Arabic genre film productions in the Middle East, served by an evocative score combining electronic elements with organic grit and a percussive push. The devastation on display is also reflected in emotionally wrenching string writing, channeling loss and hope along with the sense of doom in this dark vision of one possible future... Joseph Bishara's score for The Worthy is technically fascinating, but it's not really the sort of music you can listen to very easily on its own merits. In truth it's more a collection of music cues. And, while there is the odd moment over the 16 tracks (43 min, 36 sec) they are few and far between. 'Baited Lady' is a strong atmospheric build to a "jump" moment climax; 'May he Rest' is a subtle, sweet track; and 'Worthy Separation' is a suspense laden offering. Sadly though the whole album is just too bland to warrant repeat listens. 3 Darren Rea Buy this item online
