Records DK has released the Lacrimosa original soundtrack which features original music by composer Elia Cmiral and performances by panflute master Gheorghe Zamfir. In the short film, the young girl Mila wakes up in an unknown world full of mysteries. On her journey through ever changing surreal landscapes she meets her lover Theo. Mila has to learn that love also means to let go... Panflutes are either a relaxing, soothing sound or the Devil's instrument sent to torture poor mortal souls... depending on your point of view. Personally, I'm of the later persuasion, so while I enjoyed Elia Cmiral's score, I cringed every time the panflute made an appearance (which to be fair was quite a bit). This is more an EP than a full album, being made up of just 6 tracks (16 min, 42 sec). Cmiral does turn in some beautiful and touching themes... unfortunately the panflutes rather spoiled the mood for me. However, if you can overlook that then you'll find a lot of depth to these pieces. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
