Lakeshore Records has released the original score to Love, Simon, with music by composer Rob Simonsen. Everyone deserves a great love story. But for seventeen-year old Simon Spier it’s a little more complicated: he’s yet to tell his family or friends he’s gay and he doesn’t actually know the identity of the anonymous classmate he’s fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing. Love, Simon is a funny and heartfelt coming-of-age story about the thrilling ride of finding yourself and falling in love... Rob Simonsen delivers a sweet, laid back score for Love, Simon. The piano is instrumental, here, in creating the world in which the movie is set, and provides an intimate and sweet collection of stripped back themes. There's also an '80s vibe that runs throughout, thanks to the use of synths. In fact I was reminded of a number of '80s songs when listening to this, most notably some of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark's [OMD] classic songs. The score contains 19 tracks (37 min, 40 sec) and if you're looking for a subtle, chilled out collection of themes, this ticks all the right boxes. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
