Lakeshore Records release Andrew Hollander's score for My Friend Dahmer. Jeffrey Dahmer murdered 17 men and boys in the American Midwest, becoming one of history’s most infamous serial killers. This is the story before that story. Jeff is an awkward teenager struggling to make it through high school with a family life in ruins. His bizarre behaviour at school attracts unexpected friends and as they near graduation, Jeff’s depravity continues to take hold, and he spirals further out of control... Andrew Hollander's score for My Friend Dahmer is perfect for the film. It's awkward, it's unsettling and it's just plain odd. But, taken outside of the medium it was composed for, it just feels like a trippy weird experience. This album's 10 tracks (10 min, 13 sec) are really a collection of ambient background atmospheric pieces which go nowhere. 'Opossum' is just 27 seconds of low humming! Not one I'll be listening to again. This is a score best left in the movie - and I've no idea why anyone thought it was a good idea to release this as an album. 2 Darren Rea Buy this item online
