Lakeshore Records release Daniel Pemberton's score for the National Geographic series One Strange Rock. The series explores the fragility and wonder of our planet, one of the most peculiar, unique places in the universe. It’s the extraordinary story of why life as we know it exists on Earth, brought into perspective by the only people to have left it behind: astronauts... If diversity is what you're after, then Daniel Pemberton's score for One Strange Rock won't disappoint. However, its greatest strength can also be seen as its greatest weakness, as it's very unlikely that most will be engaged by every single track. The album contains 18 tracks 1 hr, 04 min, 33 sec. I was a little disappointed in the unoriginal track titles: Things like 'OSR IV - II' and 'OSR I - IV' don't really help to give you a flavour of what to expect. Nor does it make it easy to find the segment of music you liked when watching the show. For the most part it's an engaging score, but there are a few too many atmospheric background pieces for my liking. For a documentary series on planet Earth this is a little lacking in beautiful themes. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
