Melbourne band Confidence Man release their new LP, Confident Music For Confident People, through Heavenly Recordings. In addition to 'Don't You Know I'm In A Band', they have already offered a glimpse of what’s in store on Confident Music For Confident People with recent tracks 'Boyfriend', 'Bubblegum' and 'Better Sit Down Boy', showcasing tunes that were big, brash and bright, like Dee-Lite tooled up and ready for our berserk modern times... The comparison to Dee-Lite, mentioned above, is pretty much spot on in this instance. And, as with that band, Confidence Man is an outfit you totally love, or really don't get. Sadly, I lean more towards the latter. Confident Music for Confident People sets eleven tales (41 min, 13 sec) of 21st century ennui to irresistible, irrepressible dance music. This is a collection of songs that attempt to address the all-consuming interior monologues that bored, disaffected youth are wrestling with the world over and places them square in the middle of the dance floor. Sadly though, it's not an album that will age too well. Yes, it might be fashionable today, but a few months from now everything will have moved on, including you, leaving this way behind. If you're a fan of sugary, pop-based dance albums then you might find this entertaining for a very brief while. 4 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
