Varèse Sarabande release highlights of Dave Shephard score for the first season of AMC’s Into the Badlands. The first season sees Sunny, the deadliest Clipper in the Badlands, rescue a boy, M.K., from a deadly ambush. As Sunny and M.K. try to uncover the secret behind M.K.'s dark power, a new baron threatens to start a war between the rival lands... Dave Shephard delivers some attention grabbing music for this post-apocalyptic martial arts series. And while it's an atmospheric and powerful score, is it really the sort of music you'd want to listen to in isolation? It's really just a collection of background music cues: powerful and engaging in the show, not so interesting when heard on their own. Over the course of these 26 tracks (51 min, 09 sec) there was nothing that I'd want to add to a playlist any time soon. Yes, it's technically perfect for the show it's composed for, but there's just nothing that interesting here to warrant an album release. 5 Darren Rea Buy this item online
