Exitmusic release their new album, The Recognitions, through felte. Aleksa Palladino and Devon Church (aka Exitmusic) craft Dream Pop that is as emotional as it is ethereal. The project started the year they got married (2004) and all-but-imploded during their recent divorce, but not before the duo wrapped its most fully realized collection of beautifully damaged music yet... There's a bit of a '90s Indie Rock vibe that permeates Exitmusic's new release, The Recognitions, but its main focus is Dream Pop. It's trippy, dreamy and memorable. It's also quite a diverse album, with each track being radically different from the last. That will either be its appeal or sticking point, depending on your point of view. Personally, while I did engage with this release, I couldn't help feeling that I was no closer to understanding what drove the band after weeks of listening to it. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
