Silva Screen Records release composer John Lunn’s Gaelic inspired classical score to BBC’s murder-mystery series Shetland, adapted from Ann Cleeves’ Award winning novels. The soundtrack album features highlights from all 4 series, specially chosen by the composer... John Lunn (The White Queen; Grantchester; Electricity) is perhaps best known for scoring the hugely successful ITV drama Downton Abbey, for which he received two Primetime Emmy Awards in 2012 and 2013. For Shetland, Lunn does what he does best, providing an atmospheric, ambling soundtrack that is minimalist and so subtle that on a first listen it appears to be doing very little. However, it works both in the show and on its own merits. For the series it provides a beautiful backdrop to the location filming as well as providing a heart and soul to the characters. And, as a standalone album, it acts as a beautifully relaxing ambient sound while you read a book or chill out. It contains 15 tracks (37 min, 05 sec). It's subtle and sweet and won't disappoint fans of the show. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
