Broadway Records releases the soundtrack to Hello Again. The film chases 10 lost souls across 10 periods in New York City history in a daisy-chained musical exploration of love’s bittersweet embrace. The pursued becomes pursuer as they slip in and out of one another’s arms, spinning through 10 music-fuelled vignettes, which come together in 1 soulful circle... Hello Again is based on Michael John LaChiusa '90s musical, which itself was based on the play La Ronde (1897) by Arthur Schnitzler. It follows a number of different love affairs between ten characters during the ten decades of the 20th century. For those that haven't seen the movie, there's little in the way of narrative here, so it's almost impossible to fathom what is going on. But then, I suppose, you're very unlikely to buy this unless you've seen the movie. The story might be engaging, but the musical numbers are instantly forgettable, even though they're well performed by the cast. For those that enjoyed the film, this will no doubt be a welcome edition to your music library. Everyone else will probably left scratching their head. 5 Darren Rea Buy this item online
