MovieScore Media release Gerrit Wunder's score for Dead Men. The film takes viewers down to the Arizona territories, where they follow the path of a young man forced on a journey to avenge the death of his father, protect the Apache tribe he has grown to love and reclaim the land and gold that is rightfully theirs... Gerrit Wunder (Creatures of Whitechapel, Kiss the Devil in the Dark) delivers an intriguing score that takes the standard, cliched Western and delivers something both familiar as well as more modern. He manages to tap into a modern Sergio Leone-esque root and pair it with a Native American tone, every now and then slipping into action thriller-style chases and suspense music. The music alternates between action-packed set pieces and desert ambience using country music, Native American sounds and the best traditions of spaghetti westerns in the vein of Ennio Morricone. The end result is part Western, part action-thriller. It's an interesting theme based score that while not delivering anything truly surprising, also doesn't disappoint. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
