Silva Screen Records release Debbie Wiseman’s score for Edie. The movie centres around Edie, an elderly woman, who in the aftermath of the death of her controlling husband, decides to fulfil a life-long dream of recapturing the magic she had as a young girl by climbing a Scottish mountain. Edie employs Jonny to help her prepare for the gruelling climb ahead and this sparks a surprising friendship... Debbie Wiseman's score for Edie contains 13 tracks (45 min, 34 sec) and is collection of subtle, beautifully touching themes. There is one main theme that is woven throughout the album. At times it's melancholic, at others surprisingly uplifting. It's a soundtrack that puts the listener's emotions through the wringer. This is an album that works just as well outside of the movie as it does in it. It's a score that you can put on in the background while you read or relax. In many ways it sounds like a modern piece of Classical music, with a slight Mediterranean flavour. It's a touching, gentle collection of pieces that wonderfully encapsulates the essence of the movie. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
