Otzeki's new album, Binary Childhood is a bit of a strange beast. The band is Mike Sharp (vocal, guitar) and Joel Roberts (keys, Ableton) who share a mutual enthusiasm for electronic music. I have to admit that I found this rather bland. One song merged into the next with nothing to grab your attention, even the vocals made it sound, at times, as though they were just going through the motions. Part of the problem could be that it was written with the help of avant-garde producer Adhelm. "Avant-garde" - a phrase that puts the fear of god into anyone who likes their music to have melody and a pleasing structure. If you're looking for experimental electronic music then you'll find much to enjoy here. Personally I just found it rather tiring. 3 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
