Plaza Mayor Company release Rafaël Leloup's score to the movie Inheritance. The film revolves around a woman who, on learning that her estranged father has died, returns with her brother and new lover to her childhood home of Belize, where she must face her past while fighting for intimacy in the present... Rafaël Leloup delivers some impressive set piece for Inheritance. This is part ambient cues with a few rich theme buried in amongst the mix. It's not an easy soundtrack to engage with on a first listen. And unless you've seen the movie you probably won't get as much out of it as you should. It's a comfortable affair which washes over you. There's nothing offensive here, but then there's equally not a lot to latch onto. It's just a collection of floaty pieces that drift in and out. Depending on your point of view this is either the album's highlight or the thing that will turn you off. Personally I warmed to the organic sound; the very natural ebb and flow of the music which makes it a very pleasurable listen. While it's probably not an album you'll play very often, it's still an intriguing collection of mellow tracks. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
