Sony Music release Brian Tyler's score for the television series Yellowstone. The series chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park... Brian Tyler's score for Yellowstone is a deep and varied collection of themes, although if I had one minor complaint is that it leans a little too heavily on the main theme. It also reminded me, a little, of Carter Burwell's main theme for Fargo (1996). This is most notable on 'Trapped Souls'. Over the course of these 24 tracks (1 hr, 15 min, 37 sec) Tyler packs in some beautiful themes. Tracks like 'Proud Thieves' add a wonderful, reflective melancholic touch which helps to drive the emotion of the score. Meanwhile tracks like 'Lost and Found' add an element of eerie suspense. For fans of the series this is an essential purchase. Soundtrack collectors will also find much to enjoy here. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
