Release Date: 07 September 2018

Following the release of her critically acclaimed debut album Soul Eyes, Kandace Springs releases her brand-new album Indigo, via Blue Note Records/Decca Records. The Nashville-based singer, songwriter and pianist’s latest LP breaks down complex ideas and transcends genres in a way we have never heard from her before...

The driving idea behind Kandace Spring's new album, Indigo, was, as the singer explains: “What would Nina Simone do if she had the technology of today? You could never put Nina in a box – she would do a blues followed by a classical piece, a jazz standard and then a Beatles cover. This LP took a lot of inspiration from that – it’s a mix of everything that I am”.

The album contains 14 songs (50 min, 11 sec) and, to be fair to Springs, she manages to accomplish what she set out to do. Even songs like 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' is a mini miracle. There have been so many versions of this recorded over the years. However Springs takes it and makes it here own. It's raw, it's beautiful and it really does sound like you're discovering this for the first time.

Her vocals are lush and inviting, the play list is diverse, yet beautifully linked. This is an album that you'll love on the first play through... and still be getting pleasure from in years to come.

Spring has a unique and soulful voice. Don't miss out on this incredibly well presented labour of love.
