MovieScore Media releases Hans Appelqvist’s music for the documentary The Raft. In 1973, five men and six women drifted across the Atlantic on a raft as part of a scientific experiment studying the sociology of violence, aggression and sexual attraction in human behaviour. Through extraordinary archive material and a reunion of the surviving members of the expedition on a full scale replica of the raft, this film tells the hidden story behind what has been described as 'one of the strangest group experiments of all time...' Hans Appelqvist’s score for The Raft was an interesting surprise. Given the film's synopsis I was expecting it to be a rather dry affair. However Appelqvist lets his creative juices flow to deliver 20 tracks (53 min, 44 sec) of little gems. There are so many short and interesting themes woven throughout this score, which not only makes repeat listens interesting, but ensures that you'll get many hours of listening pleasure out of it. In it's construction it's not a million miles away from Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf. At times melancholic, at others uplifting, The Raft is a beautifully crafted work of art which is well worth adding to your music library. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
