Cedric Burnside releases his new album, Benton County Relic, a Blues/Rock offering that sounds instantly and comfortably familiar.

Depending on your point of view this is either a lovingly crafted Blues album or a tired and cliched offering. The licks and riffs on Benton County Relic will sound familiar, even to those that aren't Blues fans, as the sound of the album is steeped in the genre's rich history.

The album contains 12 songs (45 min, 36 sec) and it all boils down to whether or not you're a fan of the genre. Fans will wallow in its nostalgic sound, but there's nothing here to convert those that are not already collectors of the genre.
