We Were Promised Jetpacks release their new album, The More I Sleep The Less I Dream. This is the Scottish Rock band's fourth full-length LP. First impressions of this release was generally favourable, and in fact in places I was reminded of James, who were popular in the '90s. The album contains 10 songs (42 min, 33 sec) and while, on the whole I enjoyed it, I have to admit that I found that the album seemed to have no real direction and there was nothing here that I'd be happy to add to any of my playlists. It's not that this is a bad album, it's well produced and mixed, it's just that there's nothing here that makes the band stand out from a million other indie rock artists. 'Hanging In', which is probably the most memorable track, just feels like a watered down Coldplay track. The band's legion of fans will no doubt lap this up, but I felt it was very much a missed opportunity to deliver something a little more impressive. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
