Cillie Barnes self-release their debut album Cobra Lily. The band is a five-piece, pop project helmed by Vanessa Long, previously of Family of the Year. The rest of the band is made up of Marko Kurtović, Nick White, Thomas Berg, and Andrew Tyler.

On a first play through there were tracks I instantly loved - 'Dodgeball' and 'Beaulieu'. But on subesquent listens, songs like 'Ship in a Bottle' come to the fore. The album contains 10 tracks (47 min, 12 sec) and I honestly couldn't get enough of it. Each time I listened to it I found something else I'd missed in previous plays.

There's a distinct '90s indie pop vibe here that's hard not to be caught up in. Long's vocal's are captivating and at times haunting. It's well worth adding this to your wishlist.
