Containing 15 tracks (21 min, 09 sec), Gabriel Yared's score for The Happy Prince is more an EP than a full album. But what it lacks in duration, it more than makes up for in quality. This is a beautifully rich collection of sweet and, at times, melancholic themes.

Yared does a remarkable job of balancing the extremes of Oscar Wilde’s story: irony, solitude and despair, and in doing so limited the orchestral line up to a small chamber ensemble and piano which makes it sound like a more intimate project.

It's a beautifully rich and very rewarding album that works well as a stand alone collection of themes in its own right.
