You may not be familiar with the experimental French disco scene of the '70s... but if you are then Yan Tregger's name will probably be one that you recognise. For genre collector's of original vinyl, there are two of his LPs that have long been coveted. Originally released on the Musical Touch Sound label in 1978/9 Catchy and Ducks & Drakes have become like the holy grail of rare disco. Now, thanks to the careful curation of UK music collector Frankie Valentine, BBE is able to reissue both of these in-demand LPs.... Catchy is exactly what it says on the label... It's a catchy, quirky disco album containing 10 tracks (34 min, 38 sec). This isn't some drab, heard it all before disco LP. There's a little world flavour that permeates the entire release making this an engaging and interesting listen. While the presentation is unmistakably '70s, there's something about the tracks that almost makes it sound like a modern album attempting to be retro. If you're a fan of classic disco then you should be ordering this as soon as possible. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
