Lakeshore Records release the original soundtrack to The Sister Brothers. The album features original music by Oscar-winning Composer Alexandre Desplat. The film is set in 1851, and follows Charlie and Eli Sisters who are boys grown to men in a savage and hostile world of the American frontier. They have blood on their hands: that of criminals, that of innocents… and know no existence other than that of the hired gun... While not a bad score, Alexandre Desplat's music for The Sister Brothers isn't overly memorable. However, on repeat listening the subtlety of the tracks take shape and what at first appear to be rather lifeless slow build pieces worm their way into your heart. Yes, outside of the movie this doesn't work quite so well, but as a mellow collection of intricate themes, these 21 tracks (1 hr, 27 sec) work pretty well. While it offers little in the way of memorable themes, fans of the movie and Desplat's work will find much to enjoy here. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
