Varèse Sarabande Records has reissued Georges Delerue's score for A Show of Force (1990), a political thriller directed by Bruce Barreto. The soundtrack was originally releases on Varèse Sarabande's Colossal sub-label and has been long out of print... It's always a treat to hear a Georges Delerue's score you've not heard before. His music for A Show of Force passed me by on its original release and has been out of print for years. As you'd expect, coming from Delerue, it's a beautiful score which is a wonderful mix of classical music with a hint of jazz. In many ways his work is similar in style to John Barry. The chord changes in 'The Main Title', which is echoed throughout the album, make this a theme that is instantly memorable and one that you'll warm to on the first play through. The album contains 16 tracks (34 min, 01 sec) and doesn't disappoint. It's a melancholic, mellow score which you'll get years of listening pleasure out of. It's been a long time coming but now, thanks to Varèse Sarabande, soundtrack collectors finally have the opportunity to add this work of art to their collection. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
