Sony Music has released Rob Simonsen's original score for The Front Runner. The movie chronicles the rise of American Senator Gary Hart, his 1988 bid for the American presidency and subsequent fall from grace when news of his extramarital affair is made public... Rob Simonsen (The Age of Adaline; The Final Member; Love, Simon; Nerve; Westender) delivers a quirky, functional score for The Front Runner. While it has its moments, there's nothing that noteworthy over the course of the album's 12 tracks (31 min, 38 sec). This is a score that was designed to heighten the tension in the movie, which it no doubt does, but it doesn't work so well outside of the project it was designed for. Simonsen delivers some interesting piano based themes, but nothing that I'd want to revisit too often. 5 Darren Rea Buy this item online
