Music.Film Recordings release the original soundtrack for A Private War, which features H. Scott Salinas's original score and the song 'Requiem For A Private War', written and performed by Annie Lennox. Celebrated war correspondent Marie Colvin is a woman who is as comfortable downing martinis with high society's elite as she is brazenly staring down warlords and fleeing from gunfire. Driven by an enduring desire to bear witness and give voice to the voiceless, Colvin charges into danger, constantly testing the limits between bravery and bravado... The soundtrack to A Private War may work to heighten the tension in the movie, but I'm sad to report that listened to on its own merits outside of the film, it's incredibly dull and lifeless. Even Annie Lennox's 'Requiem For a Private War' is instantly forgettable. In truth, H. Scott Salinas delivers 16 tracks (41 min, 01 sec) of drab and rather unimaginative music cues. Yes, it works in the film. No it doesn't work as a collection of pieces that can be enjoyed in isolation. Sadly, unless you're a huge fan of the film, or enjoy ambient, mellow scores, there's nothing much here to excite you. 2 Darren Rea Buy this item online
