Sony Classical release the original motion picture soundtrack for The Girl in the Spider's Web featuring original music by composer Roque Baños. Roque Baños (The Commuter) showcases his natural skill at being able to manipulate an audience's emotional responses. Over the course of this score's 25 tracks (1 hr, 17 min, 44 sec) he pretty much throws everything at the listener. From action packed adrenaline infused themes to beautiful, melancholic segments, Baños mixes the right ingredients, like a master chef creating a new dish, to deliver something that attacks the listener from all directions.

Pretty much every track holds something noteworthy. But if I had to pick out highlights (of which there are many) I'd have to narrow favourite tracks down to 'Main Title - The Birth of a Dragon'; 'Drawbridge Encounter'; 'Firefall Answer'; 'Invading Family Home'; 'Vacuum Bag'; and 'Lisbeth's Theme (Fede Alvarez Plays)'.

Looking at the buying options online, the digital album appears to include four additional bonus tracks. Sadly, as I only received the standard edition for review I can't comment on those.

An incredible, emotive score.
