The iconic characters from the original Star Wars trilogy are the main event in this Star Wars Insider: The Original Trilogy collects together 178 pages of archive interviews, and features from Star Wars Insider magazine, which began life in 1987 as the official magazine of The Lucasfilm Fan Club. It's an enlightening and entertaining read that collects together interviews and features on the main actors, minor role actors as well as some crew from the behind the camera who were instrumental in bringing the movies to life. If I had one complaint, it's that there's no historical context for any of the features or interviews. It would have been handy to learn when each piece was originally published. Some of them we can roughly gauge. For example Mark Hamill's interview was after he started voicing The Joker for Batman: The Animated Series, but before Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace was planned. It's not clear is the layout is new, but with a retro design, or whether the articles are reprinted with the same layout as when first published. So I'm not sure if the different styles is an intentional modern design or if this is how they originally appeared. Those slight niggles aside, this is wonderful addition to any Star Wars fan's book collection. There's bound to be plenty here that even the most dedicated geek will be unfamiliar with. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
