After a 10 year break Cleaning Women, with their DIY instruments, release their new album, Intersubjectivity, on Svart Records... Since their previous album, 2019's U, Cleaning Woman have spent their time with a number of multidisciplinary projects, including music for documentaries and movies and live soundtracks to silent movies, and also played over 500 shows in over 20 countries. Intersubjectivity is a fresh, raw, retro sounding album that is almost impossible not to like. The band play their music on handmade instruments fashioned out of cleaning equipment, giving the LP a unique sound. That ingenuity should be enough to make anyone prick up their ears with interest and at least give the album a chance. The album's 10 tracks (37 min) are mostly instrumental, and I couldn't help wondering if they were massive Doctor Who fans as there are a couple of tracks, most notably 'Leap of Faith', which seem to have been inspired by the classic '80s version of the theme tune for the show. Overall, an entertaining and unique listening experience. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
