MovieScore Media releases Nathaniel Mechaly's score for the extravagantly produced romantic drama Swoon. The film is a new reimagination of the Romeo and Juliet story with John and Ninni growing up in resentment of each other due to their families’ competing amusement parks. When they meet again as adults in 1940, their attraction is undeniable, but soon enough they must face much harsher enemies than their past… Nathaniel Mechaly certainly delivers value for money with his score for Swoon. The soundtrack consists of 21 tracks (48 min, 14 sec) but it's the sheer quality of each track that is impressive. Tracks like 'Welcome to Gröna Lund' brought to mind Danny Elfman's work on Batman Returns (1992) and Edward Scissorhands (1990) and if you're a fan of scores where not a second of music is wasted; no background, ambient filler material is present, then you're going to get a lot of pleasure from this album. I was also reminded of Rob Simonsen's music for The Age of Adaline (2015) on a number of occasions, including the track 'Gustaf's Story and Ghost Kiss'. It's a wonderfully produced score which not only delivers heart wrenchingly beautiful themes, but also action adventure pieces like 'Saving Them'. A rich and varied soundtrack that is an essential purchase for all movie score fans. 10 Darren Rea Buy this item online
