The Black Drumset self-release their debut album, Charged, written and recorded by Brian Willey between 2016 and 2018 as a reflection of the atmosphere of modern America...

The Black Drumset incorporates elements of psych rock, electronic, drone and indie rock to deliver a sound that is hard not to get swept up in. It's a sound that you'll either love or will go soaring over your head, but if at first you find yourself leaning more towards the former, give it a little time to grow on you. You might find that the effort is worth it.

Tracks like 'For All That is Yet to be Lost' (this album's highlight for me) has a drone base that is nearly impossible not to be swept up by. Likewise, the monotonous drone of 'The Last Beat of the Last Elk Heart' is engaging and infectious. Whereas 'For That is Yet to Be' is more of a rock-based track, bringing to mind Genesis's live sets in the '70s.

It all really boils down to whether you're a fan of ambient, drone based music. If you are you'll find much to enjoy.
