Ritual Howls create a cinematic blend of twangy industrial-rock that could fuel a post-apocalyptic dancefloor. A collaboration between Paul Bancell (vocals, guitar), Chris Samuels (synth, samples, drum machine), and Ben Saginaw (bass), the Detroit trio release their fourth full-length LP, Rendered Armor, via Felte... There's a flavour of The Damned and smidgen of Depeche Mode running through Ritual Howls latest album, Rendered Armor. It's lovingly retro, whilst paradoxically sounding futuristic in its dark and brooding tones, bringing to mind a cliched grungy post-apocalyptic world vibe. There's also a cinematic western theme that runs through the album, most notably in tracks like 'Alone Together' and 'Thought Talk', which helps to give the band their own unique sound. It's an interesting LP, which sounds oddly timeless. It's hard to tell if this was recorded in the '80s, yesterday or sometime in the future. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
