Circa Waves release their new LP, What's It Like Over There?, via Prolifica Inc. / PIAS. Recorded in just one month and renewing their blossoming co-producing relationship with Alan Moulder (Foals, The Killers), fuses the visceral thrill of rock music with a slick pop sound, brimming with themes of modern ennui, emotional fragility and the inside-outs and upside-downs of relationships... A beautiful fusion between rock and pop, What's It Like Over There? delivers a little something for everyone. The album's 10 songs (30 min, 56 sec) could each be singles in their own right. 'Times Won’t Change Me' is a piano-led, Beatles-inspired song; 'Me Myself & Hollywood' explores the band’s love of R&B; 'The Way We Say Goodbye' is Kean-esque in its presentation; 'Passport' (my personal favourite) is a catchy, instantly memorable song; and 'Motorcade' is a rock out fest with an impressive guitar solo. Fans of indie rock should certainly give the band a chance - it could be the best album you hear this summer. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
