Felonious is the second album from Danish duo Sparkling - Carsten Mørch-Bentzen (vox) and Jens Christian Madsen (synths). Described as an album by the PR blurb, this six-track (23 min, 22 sec) release is in reality an EP (which cleverly crept under the radar and is only being reviewed because it's so damn fine). It kicks off with arguably the most memorable and catchy tune. 'Say Goodbye to the Ragged Tiger'. The '80s synth-pop vibe is firmly entrenched here and as the "album" moves ever forward we're given a little nostalgic tour of some of the '80s music scenes. 'Now I'm None' is a little Bowie in its delivery. In fact, it's interesting to note that Mørch-Bentzen can turn his Bowie vibe on and off at a moments notice. It's a rich and varied release that will conjure up a lot of memories for those of a certain age. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
