Compost Records has been at the forefront of independent club, house, future jazz and downbeat for the last 25 years. To celebrate this milestone, the German label has released a retrospective box-set of some of their highlights from the last quarter of a century... but with a twist... Rather than just reissue a collection of highlights from their past releases, the guys and gals at Compost Records asked esteemed artists to reinterpret their favourite Compost tunes. The result is a 48 track (5 hr, 49 min, 10 sec) collection that sees talented young artists and many of the label's all-time favourite producers giving their input. Alongside the remixes and sold out vinyl label-classics, there are a few exclusive tracks in this limited, hand numbered 10x12'' box. If you're a fan of the label, then this is a no brainer. Likewise, club and house fans will want to add this to their collection. A lovingly crafted release that is a joy from start to finish.
