Wasuremono release their new album Are You OK? on The Wilderness Records. The Japanese word ‘wasuremono’ or, ‘忘れ物’ in kanji characters, roughly translates to “something forgotten or left behind.” Although the atmosphere of the album is mostly one of hope and assurance, it stylistically travels through baggy electronica, mesmeric psychedelia, futuristic pop, to off-kilter almost surf-rock... Wasuremono's Are You Ok? is a bit of a hard album to pigeon hole - which is normally a good thing. It's a bit of a mixed bag. Songs like 'Are You Ok?', 'New York' and 'Nothing is Easy' are instantly accessible, whilst other songs take a little time to warm to. On balance, it's an upbeat collection of retro sounding pop tracks, which rewards with repeat listens. The album consists of 11 tracks (44 min, 28 sec) which will conjure up a certain amount of nostalgia to those of a certain age. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
