Chamber choir The Crossing perform a selection of Kile Smith's works on The Arc in the Sky. Based on texts by Robert Lax (1915–2000), it constitutes an American pilgrimage into spirituality... The Crossing once again take us on a roller coater ride of highs and lows, with their latest recording. The Arc in the Sky contains works by composer Kile Smith. To be honest the group could sing my shopping list and I'd still be mesmerized. This album contains three pieces ('Jazz', 'Praise' and 'Arc') over 9 tracks (1 hr, 05 min, 45 sec) and as usual, there isn't a wasted moment. Every beat; every note is carefully structured as though they are designed to pay off further down the line. If you are a lover of choral recordings then this is an album that you'll get years of pleasure from. It's powerful, uplifting with the players giving a passionate and engaging performance. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
