Frenchkiss Records release Miss June's debut LP, Bad Luck Party. Raised in the embers of punk rock, Miss June harness jagged, noisy guitars filtered through frontperson Annabel Liddell... Wake up! Punk is still alive and kicking. Miss June's debut album hits the ground running. Opener 'Twitch' is a memorable heavy rock track that is surprisingly infectious. And the energy never dissipates. There's a good mix of hard punk and more mellow rock - like 'Anomaly'. Bizarrely, the production on the album means that it sounds as though it could have been released anytime from the '80s until now. Which means the band should find a wide and varied fan base from those who lived through the '80s punk scene to the disaffected youths of today. If you want to blow away the cobwebs, Miss June will do the job nicely. Lovers of serious rock music will love this. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
