Red Crow Collective release Paul Mosley and the Red Meat Orchestra's new LP, You're Going to Die. What could have been a dour and contemplative album is a life affirming kaleidoscope of beauty and joy... You’re Going To Die! is about grief and what comes after that. The album contains 11 songs (39 min, 48 sec), and opens with the memorable 'Hello Yellow Crow'. 'People are Idiots' is another catchy track, which will rattle around in your head for days. 'Couldn't Love You More' is a more mature, almost classical, based track, while '1970s' has an '80s vibe, as well as a segment that feel like a '90s R.E.M. track. 'Build Your Fire' has a slight country leaning, while 'Well Done Son' could easily have been a Cats Steven song. The album closes with 'Because I Did Not Die Today', a catchy, jazz-infused number that brought to mind Dave Brubeck Quartet's jazz standard 'Take Five'. Ignoring the bleak sounding album title, at times this is an uplifting and joyous celebration of life. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
