Sid De La Cruz's original soundtrack to Wes Miller's Atone is released via Plaza Mayor Company. The movie follows former special ops soldier, Laura Bishop, who show up for work at the largest church in America and is forced to take down a team of hijackers when she leans her daughter is trapped inside...

The music for Atone represents quite a broad canvas of styles. There's plenty of action adventure themes, as well as quieter, more reflective moments (as can be heard in tracks like 'Run Out of Building').

On the music, composer Sid De La Cruz said: "Wes Miller, the director, wanted the score to be a hybrid of an orchestra blended with pulsating electronic elements. The last few actions scene were actually scored twice. The first version had a sad and dramatic feeling. The second version, which made the final cut, was fast paced, high intensity, action music. Both styles of music went well with the scenes. Ultimately, it was the action music that really conveyed the emotion that the director was going for."

As action scores go, it hits all the right notes and while it's not an essential purchase, there are enough interesting segments to make it worth your while checking out.
