Black Marble is the alter ego of Chris Stewart, who releases his third album, Bigger Than Life, via Sacred Bones Records. With a distinct throwback to '80s synth-pop, Bigger Than Life incorporates 11 (40 min, 50 sec) songs. Each one feels like a lovingly crafted homage to a bygone era, but brought up to date (but only just) to appease a more modern audience. 'Daily Driver' and 'Bigger than Life' have a feel (or more correctly a similar bass sound) to '80s/'90s outfit James. There's plenty to sink your teeth into here, and the diversity is something that's worth bringing attention to. Those who wish the '80s hadn't finished will get to live that era a little bit longer by sticking this on nice and loud. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
