Acclaimed actress, singer and author Lea Michele releases her first-ever holiday album, Christmas in The City, via Sony Music Masterworks. Inspired by her fond memories of growing up in New York City, Lea has captured the unique magic of the city’s holiday spirit throughout the 11-track collection, which features star-studded collaborators handpicked by Lea, including fellow Glee alum Darren Criss, Spring Awakening co-star Jonathan Groff and Broadway favourite Cynthia Erivo... "Great!" I hear you cry. "Another holiday album! What's special about this one?" The most impressive thing about Lea Michele's first festive album, Christmas in the City, is not only does it have classics, standards and modern songs, but the delivery for each is diverse. It's pretty fair to say that Michele, with her years of musical experience, makes each song her own, something a less accomplished performer would struggle to do. But most impressive of all is that the album hosts a new song, 'Christmas in New York', co-written by Glee songwriters/producers Adam Anders and Peer Astrom, designed to deliver the magic of the holidays in true New York style. It was also the one song from the album that I couldn't get out of my head. An essential festive album for not just this year, but many Christmases to come. Track listing: 01.
