WaterTower Music has released two soundtrack albums for Motherless Brooklyn: the original score by composer Daniel Pemberton, and a soundtrack featuring new music from artists including Thom Yorke & Flea and Wynton Marsalis, as well as new recordings of jazz classics by Marsalis performed by Joe Farnsworth, Russell Hall, Isaiah J. Thompson, Willie Jones III, Ted Nash and Jerry Weldon... Those that have seen Motherless Brooklyn, and loved how the music was used throughout the movie, will already have snapped up both albums. Daniel Pemberton's score, for its unique approach to noir thrillers, and this jazz-based album because it's modern jazz at its finest. If you're a jazz fan - more importantly a collector of Wynton Marsalis's music - and haven't seen the movie, then this release will still be of interest to you. Why? Well, because it includes new music by Marsalis, as well as new recordings of some of his more well know tracks. Both albums go hand in hand to deliver a wonderful musical souvenir of the film.
