Decca Records releases the soundtrack to the Amazon Original film, The Aeronauts, with original music by Academy Award-winning composer Steven Price. In 1862, daredevil balloon pilot Amelia Wren teams up with pioneering meteorologist James Glaisher to advance human knowledge of the weather and fly higher than anyone in history. While breaking records and furthering scientific discovery, their voyage to the very edge of existence helps the unlikely pair find their place in the world they have left far below them. But they face physical and emotional challenges in the thin air, as the ascent becomes a fight for survival.

Steven Price's score for The Aeronauts does an impressive job of capturing the adventures, perils and general atmosphere of the movie in musical form. The harrowing conditions, danger, beauty and pure adrenaline rush are all presented here. Tracks like 'Anything Can Happen In This Weather' highlight the isolation and beauty of the journey the pair are making.

Brass instruments play an integral part of this score, giving it a slightly different feel to the majority of soundtracks out there. And this is part of its charm.

Talking about the score, Steven Price said: "The amazing journey into the skies that James and Amelia undertake in The Aeronauts presented me with wonderfully inspirational opportunities for music. Just as they didn’t know what they would find above the clouds, I wanted the audience to feel like they were being lifted, up into the unknown, with all of the beauty and, at times, extraordinary danger that that suggests. The score shifts from moments of delicate fragility to passages of huge tension and emotion, showcasing stunning performances by wonderful musicians along the way. I hope you enjoy the adventure!"

The final two orchestral pieces 'The Sky Lies Open' and 'We Took To The Skies' are beautiful, reflective tracks which really help to cement Price as a master in his field.

The soundtrack is closed, by the sweet pop song 'Home to You' performed by Sigrid, rounding off an impressive collection of themes.
