German composer Anne-Kathrin Dern (The Jade Pendant, Lilly’s Bewitched Christmas) releases her latest soundtrack, Help, I Shrunk My Parents, via MovieScore Media. This fantasy/comedy is the sequel to Help, I Shrunk My Teacher. Felix and Ella return for yet another adventure - this time, they have to save their parent’s from the effects of the shrinkage while they get help and face obstacles from the characters of the previous picture... Anne-Kathrin Dern's score for Help, I Shrunk My Parents delivers 18 tracks (56 min, 51 sec). There's a distinct Danny Elfman vibe running throughout, giving the soundtrack a wonderful, gothic feel. Talking about the project, Dern said: "The first movie in this series by Blue Eyes Fiction and Sony Pictures was Help I Shrunk My Teacher and its original composer Klaus Badelt generously gave the reins to my studio for the sequel while he stayed on as score producer. It was the greatest pleasure to write four new themes for this magical adventure comedy: the mysterious school theme, the quirky villain theme for Hulda Stechbart, the melancholic family theme, and the sweet and warm love theme. The third act contains plenty of action music as the characters embark on their final mission to save their school, which was particularly fun to write." It's a surprisingly satisfying album, with plenty of intricate and engaging themes. Even if you haven't seen the movie, there's enough quality material here to make it one to add to your list. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
