War veteran and winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2019, Sergeant Major Colin Thackery, releases his debut album via Decca Records / Syco. It features heart-felt renditions of ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’, ‘We’ll Meet Again’ and ‘Love Changes Everything’, Colin’s new album brings the joy of old-time classics, together with a few new surprises... I wouldn't go so far as to say that Colin Thackery has got a remarkable singing voice. In fact it's like any one of a million granddad voices. This is more a novelty album on the back of him winning 2019's Britain's Got Talent. One of the main reasons that Colin was taken to the heart of the nation was that at the heart of his life is a love story between him and his late wife, Joan. The two were together for 66 years before she sadly passed away in 2016. This is an album that your grandmother would enjoy... maybe. While there are some old classics there are also a number of modern tracks which feel a little out of place. One of the highlights, surprisingly, on the album is Colin's version of 'Thank You For the Music'. It shouldn't work, but it does. Other highlights include 'World War II Medley: We'll Meet Again / White Cliffs Of Dover' and the duet with Dame Vera Lynn on 'From The Time You Say Goodbye'. I say "duet" but Lynn's vocals from her original single are mixed into this new orchestrated recording. Track listing: 01 - The Wind Beneath My Wings 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
