Automat release their fourth album, Modul, via Compost Records, an LP they describe as shifting down a gear from previous projects... Modul opens with the reggae infused dance track 'Modul 15' which puts us in the right frame of mind for what is to come. Part dance music, part ambient music, with a little sprinkling of reggae, this album has a lot going for it, not least the fact that it's pretty much timeless. This is one of those releases that works just as well if you put it on in the background, or give it your undivided attention. Creatively it's a project that grows organically the further through the album you get. While it's not exactly earth shatteringly original, it's still an engaging and enjoyable album. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
