C.O.W. 牛 release their latest LP, Internet, via Compost Records. A dance album with a distinct throwback to the '90s scene in the UK, Internet is a little bit techno and a little bit rave... Anyone who followed Orbital in the '90s will get a distinct feeling of déjà vu. The same samples and software is at the heart of C.O.W. 牛's new album. And if you're not a huge fan of the genre then there's nothing here that will change your point of view. As the LP progresses it starts to become a little more individual, with tracks that sound more like the soundtrack to a Japanese console game. 'CNDY' being the most obvious example. For me it was a lovingly retro album which I got a huge kick out of... at first... and then I started to lose interest pretty quickly. It's very much an album out of time and a little out of touch. Not modern enough to be embraced by young clubbers... and not "dancy" enough to shake your stuff to. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
