Plaza Mayor Company release Navid Hejazi's original score for Mah. The film tells the story of a mother who has to face one of the biggest problems that Canarian indigenous society suffered. An emotional and profound story about the love that leads a mother to face any threat to defend a son or daughter... There's a level of intimacy with Navid Hejazi's score for Mah that is normally reserved for documentary features. It's beautifully underscored in a way that if you don't give it your full attention it can appear to be a rather bland affair. The end result is something that feels natural, almost organic, as it slowly shifts and morphs from one thing to another. It's quite a short album, containing just 7 tracks (24 min, 40 sec) and it's over before you know it. Thematically there's the main, soft and subtle pieces which make up the majority of the album, but this is balanced wonderfully against the darker, almost horror film-esque tracks, like 'Amenaza'. Personally, while it's obvious that this works well in the movie to heighten the emotional impact, outside of the film this is a little too subtle to really appeal to that many soundtrack collectors. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
