Bella Union bring us the fourth LP from Lanterns on the Lake. Spook the Herd, a mellow indie rock offering whose romantic streak is the album's beating heart... Spook the Herd is an album that instantly feels familiar. Hazel Wilde's vocals wash over you with a Chrissie Hynde feel that's hard to ignore. But it's the laidback vibe from the songs that feel like a distant memory that you can't pin down. Nowhere is this more evident than on tracks like 'Every Atom'. Hypnotic and instantly memorable, what's not to love? The rest of the album is pretty impressive for being able to get under your skin. Infectious tunes, deep and engaging lyrics, with a siren-esque allure. Spook the Herd is a release you'll get a lot of pleasure from. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
